Our newest Critical Video Editions collection, Counseling and Therapy in Video, isn't yet live, but I've put together a couple clips to better illustrate the kind of content you'll be seeing in the collection.
Please note that these are just previews of content, and do not feature the enhanced search, browse, sharing, and clip-making features you will see in the actual collection. While I was initially hesitant to post clips in such a raw state, the plain fact is that 3 minutes of video provides more information about the collection than 10 pages of explanatory text. As my high school English teacher always said: "Don't tell, show."
Counseling and Therapy in Video will be launching in early 2009, but you can order now to take advantage of our early adopter discounts. Please email me at [email protected], or contact your sales representative, with any questions about the collection or acquiring access for your institution.
You may also sign up to receive more information when the collection is launched, including a 48-hour Sneak Peek.
Best regards,

Clip from Cognitive Behavioral Theory in Practice, with Janelle Pullen
Published by Houghton-Mifflin in association with Microtraining Associates
This video focuses on the application of Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) in real-world situations. In this clip, the therapist outlines her plans for her third session with Kevin, an 18-year old, white American male dealing with self-confidence issues. We then see her put those plans into action in her session with Kevin, creating a “thought record.” Janelle then discusses the session with the moderator, detailing the reasons for the specific words and actions she employed.
Note: This clip has been edited to demonstrate the structure of the video.
