Earl Scruggs, a legend in the banjo world, passed away yesterday at the age of 85. His unique three-finger picking style is instantly recognizable and changed the way in which the instrument is played today.
His clear, clean-cut sound can be found on a number of bluegrass classics such as "I am a man of constant sorrow", "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", and "Flint Hill Special".
As a tribute to Earl Scruggs, Alexander Street Press is offering these tracks, as well as others, in a free streaming featured playlist found here: http://goasp.it/scruggs2012
