Strauss composed Ein Heldenleben (A Hero's Life) in 1898, and conducted the premiere in 1899. The tone poem consists of 6 movements:

Mvt. 6: Des Helden Weltflucht und Vollendung (The Hero's Retirement from this World and Consummation)
