Re-launch of The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online

Glnd142 Originally released in 2007, The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online was a cross-searchable, online edition of the ten-volume reference resource. Today it is a much more powerful tool for students and researchers. The second release of the online collection features a wide range of new content and technical enhancements that make it even more valuable and easy to use.

Hundreds of audio music samples from around the world have been added. These tracks originally appeared on CDs that were published with the print edition. Users now have the ability to read about a particular song, listen to the audio, and see photos of the instruments used in the song.

Other newly added features include a comprehensive browse section, and Web 2.0 tools that let students and instructors create, annotate, and share playlists.

For more information on the re-launch of The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online, please read the entire press release.

Libraries may request a free trial by submitting a Trial Request Form.

White Paper Available on Counseling and Psychotherapy Transcripts

Alexander Street Press and SAGE Publications are pleased to announce that a new white paper, Counseling and Psychotherapy Transcripts, Client Narratives, and Reference Works: A Resource for Mental Health Educators and Practitioners, is now freely available at http://www.alexanderstreet.com/products/psyc.htm. Simply click on “Download the White Paper” for your own PDF version.

The paper contextualizes Alexander Street’s Counseling and Psychotherapy collection for our new and existing customers and end users. It’s an excellent primer that explains how students and researchers can use the collection to help improve their understanding of treatments, therapy practices and counselor training. This is a helpful resource for all research organizations whose task is to make materials available to counseling and psychotherapy students and practitioners.
